Mounted Shooting: New Shooters Clinic in Sedro-Woolley

Ever wonder how to get started in mounted shooting?

The Western Washington Mounted Shooters occasionally host new shooters clinics for those interested in becoming involved in the sport. The clinics include a lecture segment on the fundamentals of the sport, instruction on gun handling and safety and acclimation of horses to gunfire.

One such clinic is being held on July 22nd will be taught by three outstanding ladies. Heather Gastelum won 2011 CMSA WA State High Point Cowgirl, was the 2011 CMSA Western Regional L3 Champion and the CMSA Sharp Shooter Overall Champion at the July Shootout, and that was just last year. Karen Klein boasts a series of State Champions and in 2011 was the CMSA AZ Burn Center SL3 Champion. These two ladies will be assisted by Kim Lemke who was the 2011 WWMS Sharp Shooter Champion.

The clinic starts at 9:30 am and goes all day. It provides everything except the horse, saddle and bridle, although shooters are encourage to bring their own firearms, ammo, ear plugs and gun belts if they have them.  Cost is $125 + $10 Arena Fee, or $50 for an active audit.

Those interested should print and fill out the application form and liability waivers and mail them per the instructions on the document.
